Mr. Babar Iftikhar

Mr. Babar Iftikhar currently serves as General Manager (HSEQ) and holds the additional charge of General Manager (Security). He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the NFC Institute of Engineering and Technology, Multan.

A dynamic and results-driven professional, Mr. Iftikhar brings extensive experience in  both upstream and downstream sectors of the oil and gas industry. He joined OGDCL in 2007 as Deputy Chief Engineer (HSEQ), where he played a key role in cultivating a strong safety culture and demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to excellence.

Beyond his HSEQ responsibilities, he has held several strategic roles, including Manager (External Communications), Manager (Industrial Relations), and Manager (Admin). In these capacities, he implemented cost-saving initiatives that delivered significant financial efficiencies while enhancing OGDCL’s public image across various platforms.

Mr. Iftikhar was instrumental in producing OGDCL’s first-ever ESG report within a record time of one year a milestone that positioned the company among global sustainability leaders. His vision and leadership set a new benchmark for corporate excellence.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, he led OGDCL’s task force, ensuring uninterrupted operations in compliance with national and international guidelines. His efforts earned widespread recognition from both company leadership and government officials.

Prior to OGDCL, Mr. Iftikhar served as Process Engineer and HSE Engineer at Attock Refinery Limited, gaining deep insight into the downstream oil and gas sector.

In addition to his technical acumen, he is known for his exceptional interpersonal, managerial, and communication skills. He is widely respected as a dedicated professional with a consistent focus on achieving organizational goals.
