Material Management
Materials Management Department (MMD) uninterrupted supplies of all required equipment’s, machineries and spares to meet ongoing operational requirements and achieve the Company's predefined targets.
Clearing & Forwarding Consignments:
MMD arranges clearing & forwarding of consignments/ imports of equipment/ machinery/ spares by utilizing in-house resources at C&F Base, West Wharf, Karachi. The department coordinates with relevant stakeholders, including Port and Customs authorities and SBP, for timely clearance of consignments. The consignments are received at Base Stores in Karachi and subsequently dispatched to the desired locations.

Warehouse and Inventory Management:
MMD is managing 48 warehouses all over the four provinces round the clock where material is received, inspected, and properly stacked. SAP MM module and Master Data Governance (MDG) software are implemented for effective material management and inventory control.

OGDCL's Indigenization Drive
OGDCL has taken initiative for indigenization to enhance operational efficiency and bolster local industries, reduce reliance on imports and conserving foreign exchange reserves. The Company has established Strategic Indigenization Unit (SIU) responsible for driving the initiative forward to accelerate indigenization as a workable instrument for import substitution.
The indigenization unit has developed partnerships with local vendors, signed MOUs with local manufacturers, fostering collaboration to support domestic manufacturing capable of producing or supplying equivalent parts and systems locally as per international oil & gas standards. Moreover, EOIs are also called to explore multiple avenues for local development of numerous products. The team is working intensively, leveraging their expertise to achieve their goals. By collaborating with local vendors, OGDCL has successfully developed critical items such as process & Air Intake Filters, Man Portable Seismic Rig, seamless pipes lines, PCB Cards, Demulsifier for Crude / Condensate, water soluble Corrosion Inhibitor, H2S Scavenger, liner & Valve Assembly for Mud Pumps used in various operations of OGDCL to achieve self-sufficiency in key operational area.
