Mr. Zia Salahuddin
Mr. Zia Salahuddin is a seasoned professional who brings in nearly 25 years of rich working experience with multinational Automobile and Oil and Gas industries to OGDCL. He started off his career in 1997 with Honda Atlas, a subsidiary of Honda Motor Company, Japan where he was groomed by the parent company’s management in Japan as a key member of the core team responsible for expanding the newly-established business in Pakistan. He was instrumental in implementing Supply Chain, strategic long-term planning and improving post-sales Technical Services for the nascent venture. He worked on various positions including Manager Service & Spare Parts.
He later joined Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL). Over his nearly two decades of association with the Oil and Gas industry, working at various positions including assignment as Chief Engineer Sui Gas Field and Manager Procurement and Support Services. He played a pivotal role in managing and leading Supply Chain management (Upstream & Downstream), Logistics, Material Management, Joint Venture Operations, Field Development and Operations, Plant Maintenance, Utilities, Corporate Planning, External Affairs, Compliance, Supplier Management, Business Continuity Planning and QHSE.
He was part of some of the key initiatives that led to improving efficiencies, regulatory compliance, cost saving and increasing revenues. He initiated E-bidding project and led the team in implementing PPRA-compliant E-procurement in PPL. Furthermore, he spearheaded the development of PPL’s Supply Chain/ Material Management manual and policy. As a first in LPG business, he initiated and implemented, profit sharing agreement with LPG Marketing companies besides, leading PPL’s first day-round Annual Turnaround Maintenance at processing plants.
His strategic insight and out-of-the-box thinking led to improved business decision making through the use of Enterprise Resource Planning (SAP Solution) and Enterprise Content Management. Mr. Zia has a masters’ degree in Mechanical Engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi followed by a Master’s in Business Administration from Institute of Business Administration Karachi. He has attended several local and foreign trainings in business expansion and services for improving production efficiencies and Supply Chain Management. He is a Certified Supply Chain Manager and a IRCA Certified Lead Auditor for Quality Management System, Environmental Management System and Occupational Health & Safety Management.
Mr. Zia is an avid reader with keen interest in information technology, green Supply Chain and Process Safety.
