OGDCL Partners with SNF to Boost Oil & Gas Production in Sindh

OGDC has signed a contract with SNF S.A., a French specialty chemical company and global leader in polyacrylamide production, to install and operate advanced Water Injection Systems (WIS) at its Kunnar and Pasakhi oil fields in Hyderabad district, Sindh.

The project aims to enhance reservoir pressure, optimize oil recovery, and ensure sustainable production performance using cutting-edge water injection technology and SNF’s global expertise. Following the initial two phases, technology and operational control will be transferred to OGDC, enabling independent operation of the facilities.

With a designed operational life of 20 years, the project is expected to add approximately 9 million barrels of oil and 3 billion cubic feet of gas, generating an estimated USD 460 million in additional revenue. This collaboration marks a significant step toward strengthening Pakistan’s energy sector and ensuring long-term economic returns.
