OGDC’s Drive for a Pollen-Free, Sustainable Environment

Date:
Friday, 13th of February 2026

OGDC, in collaboration with the Capital Development Authority (CDA), has planted 20,000 indigenous trees and saplings at Shakarparian National Park in Islamabad under the Green Pakistan Initiative. The drive replaces invasive Paper Mulberry trees with native species to reduce allergy-causing pollen, improve air quality, and support biodiversity. By focusing on indigenous flora, the project strengthens the ecosystem, enhances the city’s natural beauty, and promotes long-term sustainability. This effort reflects OGDC’s commitment to climate action and a healthier environment, reinforcing its vision of a greener capital and a healthier spring.
