Pakistan–France Webinar on Minerals held at OGDCL

The Government of Pakistan, in collaboration with the Embassy of France, hosted a high-level webinar titled “Pakistan’s Minerals Economy: Gateway to Growth” at OGDCL Headquarters, Islamabad. The event showcased Pakistan’s vast mineral resources and promoted investment opportunities for French companies in the minerals and mining sector.

The webinar was co-chaired by Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik and French Ambassador Nicolas Galey, with Mr. Benjamin Gallezot, Advisor to the French President on mining, leading the French side online. Senior officials from the Ministry of Energy, the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), Pakistani mineral and energy companies, and French business representatives participated.

Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik reaffirmed the government’s commitment to a sustainable and transparent minerals sector, emphasizing facilitation through the SIFC to attract international investors. Ambassador Nicolas Galey commended Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen its mining environment and expressed France’s interest in sustainable partnerships.

OGDCL MD/CEO Ahmed Hayat Lak welcomed French collaboration, noting that Pakistan’s mineral industry offers promising opportunities in exploration and development.
