OGDCL's Production Optimization Efforts at Dars West-1 Well
OGDCL has successfully revitalized its Dars West-1 well in Tando Allah Yar, Sindh, enhancing oil and gas production through a strategic workover and recompletion in the Lower Goru formation (B Upper Sand). Operational since February 2017, the well had produced an average of 170 BPD of oil and 5.6 MMSCFD of gas before it was shut down in May 2024 due to excessive water production.
A comprehensive workover was conducted in September 2024 to target and shut off the water-producing zone, revitalizing production from the Lower Goru formation. The well is now producing 330 BPD of oil and 12.0 MMSCFD of gas, which is processed at OGDCL’s Kunnar Pasakhi Deep-Tando Allah Yar (KPD-TAY) Plant. Additionally, 53 MTD of LPG is being recovered. The processed gas is integrated seamlessly into the SSGCL network, significantly enhancing the national gas supply.
