OGDCL-Led Consortium Wins Miran Block in Competitive Bidding

OGDCL has successfully secured the Miran Block as an Operator, further strengthening its footprint in Pakistan's energy sector.

The Miran Exploration Licence was originally granted to KPOGCL on May 7, 2024. To optimize exploration efforts, 49% working interest in the block was offered for farm-out through an open bidding process.

After a competitive bidding process, the OGDCL-led consortium, comprising PPL and GHPL, emerged as the best bidder. As a result, OGDCL secured a 29% working interest as the Operator, while PPL and GHPL acquired 10% each. KPOGCL retained a 51% carried interest during the exploration phase.

A signing ceremony for the Farm-Out Agreement was held on February 26, 2025, attended by key stakeholders.

On the occasion, MD & CEO OGDCL expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and provincial dignitaries for their support. He reaffirmed OGDCL’s commitment to accelerating exploration activities in the province, ensuring efficient resource development while adhering to requisite security protocols.
