OGDCL Revives Kunnar-3 Well Under Production Optimization Drive

Date:
Friday, 22nd of August 2025

OGDCL has successfully revived the Kunnar-3 well in the Kunnar Oil Field, which had been shut since 2022. Utilizing advanced diagnostic tools, OGDCL identified productive zones within the Lower Goru A-Sand formation. Following a water shut-off and new perforations, the well was brought back into production. It is currently producing 330 barrels of oil per day (BPD) and 2.1 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas.

The revival of Kunnar-3 is part of OGDCL’s ongoing production optimization initiative aimed at enhancing hydrocarbon recovery across its assets through targeted field interventions and the application of modern technology. Several successful workovers have already been carried out under its field revitalization plan
