Learning and Development Initiatives
Learning Odyssey
Learning Odyssey is a leadership development initiative aimed at strengthening capabilities across all levels of OGDCL and fostering a culture of continuous growth.
In collaboration with LUMS, OGDCL has designed a three-tier leadership program. It begins with Tier 1 – Management Development Program, a 14-day training for Deputy Chiefs and Chiefs, focused on problem-solving, decision-making, project leadership, communication, and conflict resolution. To date, 200 employees across eight cohorts have completed the program.
Tier 2 – Leadership Development Program for GMs and Managers has been launched, with the first cohort successfully trained. Tier 3 – Leader Development Program is being introduced to provide a structured, progressive path for leadership development.
Learning Excellence for Accelerated Progression (LEAP)
LEAP is a 10-day leadership program for EG-II to EG-IV employees, developed in collaboration with IBA. It builds critical thinking, decision-making, and collaboration skills to tackle organizational challenges.
The curriculum includes topics such as organizational transformation, energy landscape analysis, innovation, crisis communication, design thinking, financial and project management, and communication skills.
Participants apply their learning through Action Learning Projects and express creativity via LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® exercises. To date, 510 employees across 17 cohorts have completed the program.

7 Mandates of Leadership
This transformative program, designed for GMs and Managers, focuses on core leadership principles essential for driving organizational success. Participants explore seven key mandates- responsibility over authority, selling the vision, solving complex problems, driving change, practicing empathy, serving as cultural custodians, and leading through enrollment. These principles are central to fostering a dynamic, forward-thinking leadership culture at OGDCL.
Lead with Emotional Intelligence
This impactful program for middle and senior management enhances leadership effectiveness through emotional intelligence. It covers concepts such as emotional vs. intelligence quotients, brain biology, and emotional hijacking. Participants build self-awareness, emotional regulation, and self-confidence, while learning self-management strategies based on personal values, trust, and holistic well-being. By fostering emotional intelligence, the program strengthens OGDCL’s leadership, improving teamwork, decision-making, and organizational resilience.
7 Habits of Highly Effective People
Designed for junior officers, this program instills core habits for personal and professional growth. It covers principles such as proactivity, goal orientation, prioritization, win-win thinking, empathetic communication, synergy, and continuous self-improvement. Participants gain practical tools to boost leadership and productivity, laying a strong foundation for future growth at OGDCL.
