SAP-Ariba Introduction

Supply Chain Management Department is a strategic function and essential for ensuring the timely availability of materials and services to maintain smooth operations and an optimal bottom line.Mission of OGDCL’s Supply Chain Management Department is to procure the best quality material and services in a timely and transparent manner, at a competitive price and in conformance to PPRA/ other Statutory requirements, for seamless operations to contribute to achieving energy self-sufficiency for Pakistan.

 

To achieve this mission; Procurement Department thrives to continuously improve and automate the process to efficiently and effectively purchase the material and services.

 

As another milestone achievement in pursuance of its mission OGDCL’s Procurement Department has adopted SAP Ariba (E-Sourcing/Bidding) Module; a dynamic, digital marketplace where millions of buyers and suppliers interact from around the globe electronically.

 

By introducing SAP Ariba (E-Sourcing/Bidding) Module OGDCL aims to process the procurement tenders more efficiently by automating the procurement lifecycle, such as supplier interaction planning, shared execution of supply chain administration, and intelligent data processing. It reduces email and spreadsheet management to shorten cycle times and increase productivity. The ability to connect once and collaborate with multiple trading partners simplifies interactions and transactions, gives greater flexibility to deal with supply chain volatility, derive optimal award allocations, and meet buyer commitments. 

 

All vendors currently working with OGDCL and prospective vendors are requested to register on SAP Ariba Portal in order to participate in OGDCL future tenders.
