Education & Skill Development

OGDCL is fully committed to advancing education as a cornerstone of national development and progress. We believe that education is a powerful equalizer, essential for individuals from all walks of life, and it paves the way for a brighter future, stronger character, and greater social empowerment. To support this vision, OGDCL actively contributes through a variety of initiatives, such as scholarships, skill development, construction/upgradation of schools, support for educational institutions, in collaboration with reputable educational institutes.. Our efforts aim to create lasting, positive impacts on communities and help shape the next generation of leaders.

 

OGDCL partner with IBA Karachi to offer fully funded scholarships

The program has seen remarkable success, with 27 students already graduating from IBA Karachi, empowered to make significant contributions to their communities and the nation. This year, the program saw an overwhelming response, with 2,500 students applying for the orientation program. These applicants represented 21 districts from across Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Punjab. Out of these applicants, 100 students were selected for the orientation program, which involved rigorous training and testing. After the intensive process, 44 students have been selected for  4-year regular program at IBA Karachi.

 

OGDCL National Talent Hunt Program at IBA Sukkur

The OGDCL National Talent Hunt Program at IBA Sukkur  stands as a remarkable success in community service, so far 875 students graduated from IBA Sukkur. To expand Company’s commitment to nurturing talent and transforming lives nationwide, OGDCL and IBA Sukkur to sign a MoU for additional 340 students.

With an unwavering commitment to social empowerment and corporate citizenship, The Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has entered into a collaborative arrangement with The Citizens Foundation (TCF) to promote high-quality education for underprivileged children in Pakistan.

OGDCL signed MoU with Aror University, Sukkur

OGDCL has partnered with Aror University, Sukkur, to pave the way for meaningful initiatives benefiting the community. The MoU signing ceremony, held at OGDCL Head Office, Islamabad, marks the beginning of a fruitful collaboration. Together, we will be exploring various areas of mutual interest for the greater good of our community. This partnership is more than collaboration; it's a shared vision of nurturing talent, fostering innovation, and uplifting our community.

 

OGDCL launched MASHAL-E-ELM Programme for out-of-school children

MoU was signed between OGDCL and Vision-21 to provide quality education to the children of Village Chappri District Attock through speed literacy programme for Primary, Middle and Matric level. The duration of the programme will be 4 years, inclusive of 6 months Skill Development Programme to enhance students' practical vocational skills.

 

Free education to 242 students of Dera Bugti

OGDCL provided free education to 242 students of district Dera Bugti enrolled in FC School Loti, Pirkoh.

 

Technical trainings to 313 youth at NAVTTC 

In partnership with the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission, OGDCL provided free technical training to 313 students across various disciplines. This initiative aims to equip young individuals with practical skills that are highly relevant in today’s job market. 

 

Empowering Youth through Skill Development

OGDCL signed MoU with the Punjab Skill Development Fund (PSDF) to enhance opportunities for underprivileged youth. This collaboration aims to provide comprehensive training in various trades, equipping young individuals with the skills needed for successful careers and sustainable livelihoods.

 

Empowering Women of Balochistan  and Sindh through Skill Development

OGDCL, in collaboration with the Institute of Development Studies and Practice (IDSP), has launched a Community Midwives Training Program in Dera Bugti to train 30 midwives, aiming to improve maternal and infant health outcomes in the region. Additionally, in partnership with the Taaleem Foundation, OGDCL has successfully provided vocational training to 89 women, equipping them with essential skills in technical fields and crafts to promote economic independence and growth.
The Company also distributed 700 sewing machines in Balochistan and Sindh supporting women in developing essential skills and creating new economic opportunities to enhance livelihoods and promote financial independence in these regions.
