Indigenization

OGDCL has initiated efforts for indigenization to enhance operational efficiency, bolster local industries, reduce reliance on imports, and conserve foreign exchange reserves. The company has established the Strategic Indigenization Unit (SIU), responsible for advancing this initiative and using it as a tool for import substitution.

The indignation unit has developed partnerships with local vendors, signed different MOUs, fostering collaboration to support domestic manufacturing capable of producing or supplying equivalent parts and systems locally as per international oil & gas standards. Moreover, EOI are also called to explore multiple avenues for local development of numerous products. The team is working intensively, leveraging their expertise to achieve their goals. By collaborating with local vendors, OGDCL has successfully developed critical items such as process filters, seismic rigs, seamless pipes lines, Demulsifier for Crude / Condensate Mud Pump Valve Assembly for Drilling and more, achieving self-sufficiency in key sectors.
